When the apostle Paul lists the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, love is the first attribute mentioned. This is no coincidence. Love is the foundation upon which all other virtues stand. It is the defining characteristic of those who walk in the Spirit, setting believers apart as true disciples of Christ (John 13:35).
